Enlightenment.
Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water.
The moon doesn't get wet, nor the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great
the moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide,
the moon and the entire sky
are reflected in one dew drop on the grass.

The Master arrives without leaving.
Without opening the door
you can open your heart to the world,
Without looking out your window
you can see the essence of Tao,
The more you know,
The less you understand,
The master arrives without leaving,
Sees the light without looking,
Achieving without doing.
Lao Tzu.
Tao Te Ching Chapter 47.
True destiny.
Love is our true destiny.
We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone,
We find it with another.

The bull.
Expecting the world to treat you fairly
because you are a good person,
is a little like
expecting the bull not to attack you
because you are a vegetarian.

Epitaph.
Nothing had ever obliged him to do anything.
He had spend his childhood alone.
He never joined any group.
He never pursued a course of study.
He never belonged to a crowd.
The circumstances of his life were marked-
by that strange but rather common phenomenon.
Perhaps, in fact, it's true for all lives,
Of being tailored to the image
and likeness of his instincts,
Which tended toward inertia and withdrawal.

Rain.
(drawing, after Bansky's mural, Buenos Aires)
Listen to me as one listens to the rain,
Not attentive, not distracted,
Light footsteps, thin drizzles,
Water that is air, air that is time,
The day is still leaving,
The night has yet to arrive,
Figurations of mist,
At the turn of the corner,
Figuration of time,
At the bend of this pause.
Air and water, words with no weight,
What we are and are,
The days and years this moment,
Weightless time and heavy sorrow,
The years go by, the moments return.
In another time that is now,
Listen to the footsteps of time,
A restless garden adrift- go in
Your shadow covers this page.

The Four Immeasurables.
"To others who are more fortunate, practice
MUDITA, sympathetic joy,
this is an antidote to envy and jealousy.
To others who are less fortunate, practice
KARUNA, compassion,
this is sympathy extended to all sentient beings,
takes away the heaviness of the heart, it gives wings.
To all sentient beings, practice
METTA, loving kindness,
this overcomes anger, hatered, ill will & aversions.
To the self, practice UPEKKHA, equanimity,
this gives mind a balanced mind, and rooted inside."
